Warren Clayton Berry was arrested last Saturday and booked in Santa Barbara County Jail for felony arson and misdemeanor throwing a lighted substance from a vehicle. His bail is set at $75,000.
According to the Sheriff's Department, a witness reported seeing a white Volvo wagon stopped along the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near the Nojoqui Grade when a burning object came flying out of the passenger side window.
A few minutes later a Sheriff's deputy spotted Berry's Volvo and began following the 49-year-old Solvang resident who exited at El Capitan State Beach. Berry was stopped and arrested soon after.
