Santa Barbara City College’s Projects in Sustainability class, the Student Sustainability Coalition, and the Center for Sustainability are hosting a Farmers’ Market each Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during the academic year while classes are in session.
Press Release
SBCC Anthropology Instructor Paul McDowell inspects a purple bell pepper at the vendor stand.
The business venture is student-owned and operated and features vendors with local organic produce for purchase by both the campus community and general public.
A number of local non-profit organizations with sustainability focuses participated in the August 31 Farmers’ Market as part of the fall debut.
Comments
Thank you for including my photograph with the piece on the farmers' market, which was held last Wednesday.
A small correction: I teach anthropology, not sociology, at SBCC.. The error probably stemmed from the fact that the anthropology instructors teach under the auspices of the Sociology and Anthropology Department there.
Best,
Paul McDowell
Instructor in Anthropology .
