Pedestrian Killed While Walking Through Intersection


Goleta resident Mary Robles, 90, was killed Monday evening as she crossed the intersection of Calle Real and Kingston Avenue. According to authorities, the car that hit her was traveling westbound in the 5600 block of Calle Real. Robles was pronounced dead at the scene. The intersection was closed for approximately six hours as the Sheriff’s Major Accident Response Team investigated the scene. It’s unclear at this point if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
