It came to my attention this morning that Donald Rumsfeld canceled his New York Times subscription due to a disrespectful Paul Krugman hit piece today.

After Nick Welsh’s vile, repugnant, and despicable “Angry Poodle” rant last Thursday, I wish I could cancel my “subscription” to The Independent.

But then, I don’t pay any money to scan the Poodle’s “contributions” to the world of punditry. Supposedly, we all get what we pay for.

It is so sad that Nick Welsh can’t find anything nice and sympathetic to say about the nation of his birth on what from now on will be the new “Pearl Harbor” Day.

I genuinely feel sorry for him. The burden of shouldering so much hatred, yet he stands to gain — as I do — from the benefits afforded to all Americans by simply living here as free citizens in this great nation.

Nick Welsh and I will both die as free men — because others have paid the price for our free status.
