• Stop by the AIDS Walk Yard Sale this Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25, to help raise money for next month’s 21st Annual Heart & Sole Aids Walk. Proceeds from sales of a variety of housewares, furniture, clothing, toys, books, sporting goods, and much more benefit the AIDS Walk, which supports Pacific Pride Foundation’s many programs for S.B. residents who are living with, at risk for, or affected by HIV/AIDS. The sale runs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. both days at 405 West De la Guerra Street. Call Marilyn at (415) 328-5205 for more info.

• Volunteers are needed to act as docents at The Moving Wall — a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. — which will be installed at Chase Palm Park from Sept. 29-Oct. 3. Volunteers are required to attend one of two training sessions this week in order to become docents: Saturday, September 24, at 10 a.m., or Tuesday, September 27, at 7 p.m., at the Veterans Building (112 W. Cabrillo Blvd.). At the sessions, volunteers will learn how to assist visitors at the wall, which honors the 2.8 million Americans who served in the conflict. Call (805) 284-6372 for more info.
