There’s a decidedly different tone emanating from the Bacara property ever since the resort’s developer and original owner Alvin Dworman sold to Ohana Real Estate Investors this past July, as the new owners appear to be all about appeasing the locals rather than constantly shutting them out and badgering them with even more development proposals.

Ohana’s management ripped out all the “Bacara Guests Only” signs, began calling the nearby beach Haskell’s again, and put on hold the idea of building time-share condos near the beach parking lot. They’ve reached out to Goleta City Hall, are trying to meet with community leaders and nonprofit organizations, and, next week, are inviting everyone to an open house.

The event is Wednesday, October 5, 5-8 p.m., and you too can RSVP by emailing RSVP@bacararesort.com or calling (805) 571-3124.
