INDY ON THE TUBE: Any self-respecting Santa Barbaran who’s paying even remote attention to the pop culture megaphone knows that the USA Network’s television show Psych is set in our fair town, evidenced mostly by B-roll footage of the courthouse and other symbolic spots. You might think that those shots are where the connection stops, considering that the shooting actually takes place in Canada. But as this screenshot from a recent episode shows, the producers know exactly where most of Santa Barbara goes for its news, arts, entertainment, and lifestyle coverage: Check out Corbin Bernsen, who plays the lead actor’s father in Psych, diligently thumbing through the pages of a Santa Barbara Independent.
