A hometown memorial for Samantha “Sam” Wopat will take place Thursday, May 24, at the Cabrillo Pavilion Arts Center. Wopat, a graduate of Dos Pueblos High, died March 25. She was a sophomore student and volleyball player at Stanford. The memorial service, slated to start at 6 p.m., will be preceded by a volleyball game on the East Beach courts. Participants will include Sam Wopat’s sister, Carly, and brothers, Jackson and Eli.
