The tour serves as a follow up to successful tours held in 2011. The September tour will focus on farming operations in the Lompoc Valley, one of the most fertile farming regions in the County.

When:Saturday, September 15th – 7:30am – 2pm.

Farm stops to include:

· Bailey Avenue (mixed vegetables)

· Lompoc Valley Seed and Milling (beans)

· Hibbits Ranch Co. (walnut orchard)

The goal of the AFA’s farm tours are to increase awareness among community members about the diversity and importance of local farming and ranching operations.

Participants must arrive for the tour by 7:30am to the Motel 6 Parking lot in Buellton, Ca. located at 333 McMurray Ave.

Bus will depart promptly at 8:00am; coffee and bagels provided; farm lunch at the beautiful Hibbits Ranch included in registration fee. Participants must attend the tour by bus, as no extra vehicles will be allowed on the various farms.

Cost for the full day tour is $30. Space extremely limited.

The Santa Barbara County AFA has been operating as part of a statewide system of AFA and Food Systems Alliance since 2009.
