The play area will be fenced off and closed whilethese improvements are being made. During the construction, the existingplayground equipment and sand will be removed and the playground area will beexpanded. Two new playground structures will replace the old, outdated playground equipment, and a new rubberized safety surface will be installed. One of the new structures is designed for children ages 2-12 and the other is for children ages 5-12. The playground equipment will also be ADA accessible.The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of October and is being funded by a combination of Proposition 40 and Roberti-Z’berg-Harris (RZH) Blockgrants.
The City of Goleta will begin work on upgrading the play area at Evergreen Park next week.
