Huey Lewis Taken to Hospital After Santa Barbara Bowl Show

Manager Said He’s Back on the Road and Feeling Fine

Huey Lewis left the stage during his Sunday night performance at the Santa Barbara Bowl before taking an encore, prompting speculation among audience members and blogosphere posters about his semi-early departure. Rumors have swirled that he suffered a serious health scare, but Lewis’s media representative sent this message to The Santa Barbara Independent Monday night:

“Thank you, to all of our concerned fans and well wishers. At the end of the show at the Santa Barbara Bowl, Huey wasn’t feeling well enough to come back for the encore. He was checked out by a wonderful medical team at the Cottage Hospital, and released. He is traveling today and feels fine.”

Lewis opened for Joe Cocker, and a review of the show can be found here.
