This Sunday, Girsh Park will be brimming with puppy-dog eyes and kitty-cat purrs when CARE4Paws holds it fourth annual Wags ’n’ Whiskers festival. The event draws representatives from more than 20 animal shelters and rescue groups that bring adoptable dogs, cats, and bunnies for the public to meet. There will also be animal-centric events to watch, including dog agility by Goleta Valley Dog Club, Flyball performed by the S.B. Supersonic, and police-dog demonstrations. And, as always, there will be area merchants with plenty of cool stuff to purchase for you and your pet. Also, Project PetSafe will be on hand (9 a.m.-1 p.m.), providing low-cost vaccinations, microchipping, and dog licensing. The festival takes place Sunday, August 26, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., at Girsh Park (7050 Phelps Rd., Goleta). For more info, visit care4paws.org.
