Santa Barbara’s Mary Hubbard Given Takes New Role at Fuller Seminary

Fuller Seminary is pleased to announce that Mary Hubbard Given has been appointed to the new position of Vice President for Alumni and Church Relations. Given has served at Fuller since 2008 as associate vice president of Alumni and Church Relations.

Under her new title, Given will continue her leadership of the Alumni and Church Relations department, with added responsibilities working with trustees and major donors.

“Mary Given has provided outstanding leadership to the Alumni and Church Relations office, and has brought tremendous creativity, vision, and dedication to her work,” says Fuller Provost Doug McConnell. “Mary is a very talented and experienced leader. I confidently anticipate the direction she will offer to the Office of Advancement as she continues to support our cherished alums.”

Given came to Fuller from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, where she served for 17 years as executive director of alumni and church relations. Her work at Fuller also has a special family connection. Given is the daughter of Fuller’s third president David Allan Hubbard. Her relationship with the seminary began in her childhood when her father became president in 1963—for what would be a 30-year term.

“I am honored to serve Fuller in this new capacity,” Given said. “Fuller is a very special place to me and I have loved all the work I’ve been doing with our amazing alumni around the world. I look forward to continuing my service to these wonderful friends and to the school.”

Given has been a long-time resident of Santa Barbara. She currently resides there and commutes to Pasadena, California.
