In 1947, after serving with the OSS during World War II and having traveled the world, Albert “Bertie” de L’Arbre started Santa Barbara Travel Bureau. Sixty-five years later, Santa Barbara Travel with three offices in Santa Barbara, Montecito and Ventura, is the largest, locally-owned travel company in the tri-county region. The award-winning company is now owned and operated by Bertie’s sons, Charles and David de L’Arbre, employing over forty travel professionals.
