WICKED WEBMASTER: This week marks the start of a new era for independent.com, as we celebrate the launch of a redesigned homepage and the start of inDeals, our online coupon program to support Santa Barbara businesses and the customers who frequent them. Though both were collaborative efforts that took more than six months of hard work, the heavy technological lifting fell on the back of Santa Barbara native and Summerland resident Robert LeBlanc, who’s been our Webmaster since 2007, in between his bike rides, drumming sessions, wine tastings, and long walks on the beach. “We’re using the stylistic elements from the paper to give the Web a fresh and cohesive look,” said LeBlanc, who now plans to tackle a behind-the-scenes technical upgrade to the site.
