Rising to the Defense

Barbara Lanz Mateo sent a short letter to Opinions section, “Election for Sale.” In the letter, she attacks Nancy Crawford Hall, because Steve Pappas is running again for 3rd District Supervisor. She writes: “If Pappas wins, I will be watching to see just what action or favor Crawford-Hall finally purchased. That woman has more balls and money than good sense.”

Really! I do not know Nancy Crawford Hall and I do not know Barbara Lanz Mateo. I only know that for Barbara Lanz Mateo, who was fired in early part of 2010 by the Santa Ynez Valley Journal, to use such a low-ball way of attacking Crawford exposes Lanz Mateo herself. It sounds like sick revenge to me. Put down others when you fail.

The dictionary is filled with many words, and a class-act person should search for the right words without attacking another person such as she did. Barbara Lanz Mateo sounds like she is whining, a poor loser who resents the fact that Nancy Crawford is wealthy and in control of her paper.

I love the SY Valley Journal because it keeps the valley informed without using any spin, just the truth. I love the truth.
