Glen Mowrer III, whose 2010 arrest was the catalyst for several medical marijuana dispensary prosecutions around Santa Barbara over the last few years, was sentenced to three years of felony probation after he pleaded to possession of concentrated cannabis. Mowrer had been pulled over for not having a front license plate, and more than 20 pounds of cannabis was found in his trunk. It was later determined he had been selling marijuana to several area dispensaries.

Sounds like he made a deal. Probation is a good deal for possession of 20 lbs. Intent to sell usually = doing time . .

What a waste of time and money. Our country needs to decriminalize drugs and move on. Stop hassling people for non-violent "crimes."

Curious where the 20 pounds came from, if south of the border, then probably from Mexican cartels who are anything but non-violent.
But yes, it is time the USA took a rationale approach towards regulating marijuana, not just the DEA knee-jerk reaction of labeling it a Class 1 controlled substance.

20 pounds could easily be grown in someone's garage, in a field, anywhere. Doubtful it was Mexican.
