I wanted to take this opportunity to express my deepest thanks and gratitude to Deputy Seth Woodill and Sgt. Marty Rose of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department. These gentlemen responded quickly, efficiently, and very kindly to my mental health emergency, and for their kindness and compassion I will always be thankful. The Sheriff’s Dept. must be very proud to have men of such integrity and willingness to help. I am very impressed, and feel great knowing we are protected and served by some of the finest men and women out there.

They work for the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department, not SBPD.

This is a nice sentiment, but I'm confused on a couple of points:

The Sheriff's Department and the City Police are two different entities, but the author of the letter first states that both officers are from the Sheriff's Dept., and then mentions the Police Dept. afterwards. I realize that the "Deputy" is under the County Sheriff, but is the sergeant regular PD? [Of course, I realize that most people probably don't appreciate the difference in the departments, and for the kudos I would submit it does not matter, but I was confused all the same. . . .]

Also, it's probably just a slip, but the phrase "men of such integrity" is used for both. Is the sergeant a man named "Mary"? This one is more about curiosity, than veracity.

haha I didn't put that much thought into it. I don't actually know the differences between sherriff's, police, and all that. I just was feeling ever so thankful. Sorry for the confusion.
