CASSI & TUBBS: Graphic designer Cassi Lindberg, who recently started working in The Santa Barbara Independent’s advertising production department, has always loved English bulldogs as pets because they’re lazy. But this time around, the Lompoc native wanted something “slightly active,” so she went for a French bulldog instead. Today, Tubbs the dog sits with Cassi the artist as she works on brightly colored, large-scale paintings that have been shown in galleries throughout the region. “That’s my true passion,” explained the Cabrillo High and Chico State grad, who also lived in Reno and San Francisco before returning to Santa Barbara County. “But I went into graphic design because there are four painters in my family, and they all said, ‘Don’t do it. There’s not any money in painting.’” Yet she persists on the canvas, so check out her stuff at cassilindberg.com.
