S.B. High Names New Athletic Director

Santa Barbara High named a new athletics director (AD) and has started searching for a new head football coach. Joe Chenoweth will take over the Dons’ athletic department on 7/1. Chenoweth, a former city recreation director and business manager at Notre Dame School, will succeed eight-year AD Nan Verkaik, who is being reassigned to a teaching position. Meanwhile, football coach Jaime Melgoza has resigned, citing family reasons. Assistant coach Doug Caines will serve as the interim head coach.
