Santa Barbara Green Drinks to Feature “Greening the Bowl”

The event will bring together good people for a fun evening, while highlighting the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation’s proactive approach towards sustainability. The event is FREE to anyone. Bring a friend.

Eric Shifflet, Program Director for the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation, will outline the foundation’s efforts and offer a unique glimpse into their sustainability role within the entertainment industry.

“Bands are often very environmentally conscious,” Shifflet said. “[The Santa Barbara Bowl] is almost always already taking the measures they demand. We can either be forced to do it, or be a leader and say, ‘Hey, we’re already doing all that.’”

Shifflet will present on the challenges and opportunities of working for an outdoor amphitheater set in 17 acres of beautiful downtown, County-owned land, and the Foundation’s innovative efforts to pioneer a new trend of sustainability within the music industry.

Green Drinks joins eco-professionals, advocates, and community members to network and share ideas in cities all over the globe. In Santa Barbara, LoaTree organizes the monthly gathering and adds flavor to the event by featuring different community members or organizations each meeting.
