Pappas Accusations Laughable

I am a past president of the UCSB Campus Democrats. Steve Pappas and his financial backer, Nancy Crawford-Hall, continue to accuse my friends and me of committing voter fraud crimes. When Steve Pappas’s legal team made these claims four years ago, they were laughed out of court. There was never a shred of evidence to support their claims; a series of investigations found not a single case of an illegal vote being cast.

UCSB has a proud history of high voter registration and voter turnout. Decades of hard work have created a culture at UCSB that has made registering and voting as second nature as taking Anthro 2, eating at Freebirds, or wandering Del Playa during Halloween. And frankly, it’s a culture that I’m damn proud of!

To the current group of Campus Democrats and UCSB students: Keep up the good work and keep the tradition alive!

To Steve Pappas: Shame on you for telling lies about us.
