Bring in the Sessions Musicians

Is it just me, or did the Monkees concert at the Arlington totally suck? I feel like the Monkees came into town and stole my, or shall I say anybody-who-bought-tickets’, money. I thought the acoustics were terrible; those guys sounded bad when they sang. The effort they put forth on stage was good, but I guess the memories I had as 12-year-old didn’t measure up to what I heard 45 years later. I’d like to think those guys just had a bad night, or the concert gods just conspired against them, but for some reason I don’t think so. What disappoints me the most is that those guys are professional musicians but they are more than willing to sell us a mediocre product. Oh well, it’s only hard-earned money, I’ll get over it. And worst part of the whole deal is they didn’t even play the “Hey, Hey, We’re The Monkees” song.
