My sister and I had a great time at the Monkees concert at the Arlington on Friday night. However, when did it become a rule that you are not supposed to stand while doing so? The poor ushers had to patrol around and tell people to sit down. Our tiny area of fans decided not to take it and stood in the far left aisle and danced our butts off. I don’t understand why most of the people there spent at least $50 to see a band that probably will never tour together again and just sit there doing the golf clap? Furthermore, why ruin it for those of us who actually want to dance in one place (oh, the horror!) and show those guys how much we love them? Even they commented on how “apparently there is no standing allowed in Santa Barbara” and that it was not ordered by them. Say the reason was that it was a fire hazard. If that is the case, why were we allowed to dance in the aisle? I’m so sorry, Mike, Peter, and Micky.
