When I saw that Steven Lovelace has been chosen as a Local Hero, I had three thoughts: Yes! Finally! Why didn’t I think to nominate him!

In addition to teaching and working with young people, he has also been an integral part of Summer Solstice Celebration and has danced and choreographed innumerable dance pieces for as long as I can remember. He has long deserved to be honored for all he has done for the arts and youth community.
