Abel Gonzalez (20) plunges for a TD, giving the Cardinals a 26-0 halftime lead. The Warriors rallied in the second half behind Ian Craddock, who passed for three touchdowns and kicked a field goal. Bishop Diego, the No. 2–ranked team in the CIF Northwest Division, improved its record to 6-0. Carpinteria is 4-3.

Bishop Diego High’s Cardinals began to light up the scoreboard at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium last Friday night as Nolan Tooley crossed the goal line after receiving a 27-yard pass from Anthony Carter. The Cardinals defeated the Carpinteria Warriors, 39-22, in their annual “Little Big Game.” Carter, a junior quarterback, was named the GI Forum Most Valuable Player.
