Members of the Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue team (SAR) along with a helicopter from the Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit rescued two lost female hikers in the Point Sal area last Wednesday. The women, according to a Sheriff’s spokesperson, became disoriented while trying to return to their car from the beach. Just before daybreak, an Air Support helicopter launched from the Santa Ynez Airport and spotted the hikers huddled under a tree. They were brought on board and transported uninjured to SAR ground teams.
