SB Walk Now For Autism Speaks October 27
Experience the power of a community united by autism at the 4th annual Santa Barbara Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at East Beach in Santa Barbara at 10 a.m., located at the cross streets of Corona Del Mar and Cabrillo Blvd, where an anticipated 1,500 people will walk for autism awareness. Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder, with 1 in every 88 American children affected.
Celebrity walk attendees include:
- HELENE SCHNEIDER: Mayor of Santa Barbara
- ANDREW FIRESTONE: Master of Ceremonies
- SALUD CARBAJAL: Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, 1st District
- JOYCE E. DUDLEY: Santa Barbara District Attorney
- BILL BROWN: Santa Barbara County Sheriff
Firestone will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Registration begins at 9 a.m., the opening ceremony is at 10 a.m. and the Walk kicks off at 10:30 a.m. The 2011 walk hosted 1,200 people and raised $134,000.
