5th Annual Law Bowl Fundraiser for Teen Court

Proceeds from this event will benefit Santa Barbara Fighting Back’s Teen Court. The event will take place at Zodo’s Bowling and Beyond, 5929 Calle Real in Goleta from 11:30 – 2:00PM.

Teen Court is program of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and is an innovative approach to the juvenile justice system. It is an early intervention program for first time offenders which diverts teen clients out of the traditional juvenile system. Defendants avoid a criminal record while still being held accountable for their actions. All functions of Teen Court are carried out by teens, and sentences include jury duty, community service, counseling, and educational classes. Eighty-five percent of teens that graduate from Teen Court do not re-offend.

Women from the law community have joined hands over the past five years to bring attention to Teen Court and to raise money to sustain this important program. The objective of Law Bowl is to preserve the integrity of Teen Court with the mission to make Santa Barbara a healthier and safer place to live.
