Carpinteria Apartment Fire Quickly Knocked Down

Cause of the Blaze Under Investigation


An unoccupied apartment in Carpinteria caught fire early Monday morning. Crews from the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District, Montecito Fire, and Ventura County Fire responded with four engines and 15 firefighters within a couple of minutes of the 6:12 a.m. call to 4780 Eighth Street and controlled the fire soon thereafter. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
