Meanwhile, Back at the Public Trough …

Stoker still harps on his pledge to shrink government, and trim any expendable fat. This seems to always have been his defining theme.

In spite of his supposed allegiance to “private sector” enterprise, back in the 90s, after failing in a congressional bid, he got a political patronage appointment to something called the Agricultural Labor Relations Board – an agency certainly within the purview of his fat-trimming axe. For a $100,000+ salary he chaired this board, which, for much of the time, failed to even meet for lack of a quorum.

Isn’t it hypocritical that he would profit by patronage appointments to government jobs that he now claims he would eliminate?
