In the first month of the new fiscal year, the City of Santa Barbara collected more than $1.8 million in Transient Occupancy Taxes (TOT), resulting in growth of 3.1% over the same month last year.
This year, there were only eight weekend days in July compared to 10 weekend days in July 2011, when TOT grew 12.2%. The fiscal year 2013 TOT budget is $14,489,200 and assumes overall growth of 6.1%. The City’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30 each year.
