Local business owners, non-profit leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and friends arrived to the CAF gallery to the sounds of light jazz, appetizers by Duo Catering and Events, and an open bar by SOhO Restaurant and Music Club. After an hour of networking, LoaTree assembled the group to make its first announcement: the formation of its new company, LoaCom.

LoaCom is a business-to-business consulting firm that will offer Marketing & Public Relations, Business & Organizational Development, and Event services to businesses, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and individuals. LoaCom will work with clients that strive to incorporate sustainability and community-building principles into their business model.

David said, “After years of working in non-profit, government and business, LoaCom offers valuable insight and services to companies and organizations who want to make a ‘better world.’ We feel like we have the best job in the world by helping people and business be more effective at building community and promoting environmental stewardship. It is the present and the future of business.”

LoaCom will work independently of LoaTree, offering its business services throughout the central coast and beyond.

LoaTree’s second announcement soon followed, as David Fortson and Eric Cardenas (LoaTree CEO and COO, respectively) unveiled a four foot tall front page cover of their new publication, LoaLiving Magazine, featuring Zach Gill of ALO and Jack Johnson fame as it’s feature story.

LoaLiving will serve as an online and print resource profiling ‘changemakers’ in society, from farmers and chefs, business owners and green technology companies, to musicians and artists. LoaTree’s ‘Live for a Better World’ motto will drive all content in LoaLiving, as LoaTree seeks to set the new standard for sustainable lifestyle publications.

“The goal of LoaLiving is to shine a light on the people and companies pushing the boundaries of sustainability,” said Eric Cardenas. “We’re living in a time of exceptional ingenuity and creativity…we want to highlight the best that society has to offer while inspiring others to blaze their own trails.”
