Julia Child’s story of her start in the cooking profession is intertwined with blogger Julie Powell’s 2002 challenge to cook all the recipes in Child’s first book. Starring: Amy Adams, Meryl Streep and Chris Messina.

October 12: Sideways (R)

Two men reaching middle age with not much to show but disappointment, embark on a week long road trip through California’s wine country, just as one is about to take a trip down the aisle. Starring: Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church and Virginia Madsen.

October 19: Chocolat (PG13)

A woman and her daughter open a chocolate shop in a small French village that shakes up the rigid morality of the community. Starring: Juliette Binoche, Judi Dench and Alfred Molina.

October 26: Eat Pray Love (PG13)

A married woman realizes how unhappy her marriage really is, and that her life needs to go in a different direction. After a painful divorce, she takes off on a round-the-world journey to “find herself”. Starring: Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem and Richard Jenkins.
