Montecito teenager Lakey Peterson took home third place last week at the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Bells Beach surf contest in Australia. In just her second season competing on the Association of Surfing Professionals’ Women’s World Tour, Peterson lost in the semi-finals at Bells to eventual contest winner Carissa Moore, her heat score of 18.50 just shy of Moore’s 18.67. Two events into the season, Peterson is currently ranked number 7 in the world.
