Lompoc Youth Theater Press Release

Attendees will enjoy wine tasting from seven local wineries including, La Fond, Palmina, La Vie, Ampelos and New Vineland, as well as hors d’ oeuvres and desserts. Auction items include vacation packages, theater tickets, wine, restaurant gift certificates and much more. Live music will performed by Mark Roberts Band and Lisa Gumm. All proceeds will go towards Lompoc Youth Theater’s 2013 summer production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

Each summer, Lompoc Youth Theater provides a 3 week youth theater camp that involves approximately 60 elementary through college age students and culminates in live performances. Auditions for this Summer’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be June 1 and the summer camp program will be M-F July 15- August 2. Performances of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be August 2, 3, 9, 10 at 7pm at the Lompoc Civic Auditorium, 217 S L Street.

Founded in 2009 by director Joyce Mayhew, LYT seeks to supplement school curriculums with professionally taught Performing Arts classes, workshops and productions. Last summer’s heartwarming production of The Music Man was enjoyed by over 2000 community members. All Lompoc Youth Theater afterschool workshops and classes are funded entirely by participants and community member donations.

The “Be Our Guest” event will be on Saturday May 4th from 4 to 7pm at Transcendence Winery, 313 North F St in Lompoc. Tickets are $25 pre-sale, $30 after April 29.
