The long-awaited plans for a Target on Hollister Avenue begin jumping through the City of Goleta’s official hoops next Tuesday, April 23, at 3 p.m., when the superstore presents its initial architectural renderings to the Design Review Board in City Hall and subjects them to comments from the public, as well. The store, which many bargain hunters have wanted in the Santa Barbara area for a decade, is being proposed for an 11-acre property at the corner of Hollister and Los Carneros Way, and it would be, if approved as is, a 160,000-square-foot, two-story, podium design with 423 parking spaces on the ground floor and the store above. Including some road re-alignments, the project would involve moving about 25,000 cubic yards of dirt, 2,000 cubic yards of fill and 23,000 cubic yards of export.
