Khalid Hurst Killed in Motorcycle Crash


Former Santa Barbara High football standout Khalid Hurst, 36, Class of 1995, was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday night while driving toward the Mesa on the dark stretch of Miramonte Drive near Carrillo Street. For unknown reasons, Hurst lost control of the motorcycle, which skidded another 50 feet up the road, and was declared dead at the scene due to head trauma. He was not wearing a helmet, having lent his to the female riding on the back of the bike. She survived, was rushed to Cottage Hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery.
