Nowhere Land

Riffing on comments about what we should do with those who don’t fit into the shelters or don’t want to.

Some think there is a place where the

Unwanted should flock to –

Some Neverland type fantasy

Away from precious view.

A place we pay to keep the bums

Corralled with their own kind.

Perhaps Peter Pan rules said slums

In their demented minds.

Did they learn that from Captain Hook?

I bet he’s in disguise –

Some white-collar conniving crook

With cold, deceiving eyes,

Lurking around, spreading the word,

Peter Pan is alive

But will need to grow his herd

If he wants to survive.

Perhaps some believe Captain Hook –

Their journey should lead “there” –

But if they took a deeper look

They’d see death was the “Where?”
