The effort is part of the nationwide effort by Northwestern Mutual to recruit more than 5,500 financial professionals in 2013.
Northwestern Mutual is taking active steps to grow its field force to keep pace with growing demand locally for financial security guidance, products and services, adding new qualified financial representatives and interns at a fast pace.
“The company is seeing both a need and a demand nationwide for a tailored planning approach to asset protection, growth and savings solutions,” said Steve Mannebach, vice president – field growth and development at Northwestern Mutual.
Mannebach added that more people are looking for financial guidance and they’re turning to companies like Northwestern Mutual that have been consistently financially strong.
Northwestern Mutual expects more than half of new financial representatives in 2013 will be “career changers” – professionals who believe that they have reached the ceiling in their current occupation and are looking for an opportunity to grow.
“Today more than ever, individuals are hungry for financial guidance and for those with the right background who are looking for new opportunities to grow in their professional lives and want to get into financial planning, now is an ideal time to make a career change,” said Mannebach. “We are finding that new financial representatives are motivated by the rewards, both personally and professionally, that Northwestern Mutual offers in our commitment to helping people shape and execute plans to realize their life goals.”
