A massive gang fight at 3 a.m. on Saturday in the 200 block of Cottage Grove left four people with stab wounds, two men and two women, and led to the arrest of five people, three men and two women aged 20-23. The five have been charged with attempted murder with gang enhancements, but their names have not been released.

SBPD spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood said officers responded to Cottage Grove on a call of a fight in progress. Some made their way directly to the scene while others detained people running from the area. The four victims were quickly located and transported to Cottage Hospital’s emergency room for treatment. Two of them remain under care in stable condition.

Detectives who took over the investigation would soon arrest the five suspects in connection with the stabbings, said Harwood. He declined to release any more details on the incident or the ongoing case.

This tactic of the SBPD of not releasing information on these stabbings makes some of us who live in the areas or visit them nervous. Apparently the police operate on the see/hear no evil = no evil.

at_large: Releasing details of these stabbings could interfere with future crime in the area. No crime = no cops. They're pretty desperate for PR to be calling a gang incident involving nine people "massive", and destroying medical cannabis really doesn't fill the void.

sad as it may sound.. if they have no respect for life.. either theirs or others..why do we stop them?? if they are so short sighted and they think own the street they live on..or they think they deserve more respect than they rightfully earned in there 24 year old life..who cares

basically why should we care about people who dont care about themselves or anyone else..??
