Curtis Winery Heritage Rosé 2012: Though increasingly en vogue over the last decade, pink wines are still often the afterthought or even the mistake batch of a vineyard or vintage.

But this rosé from Curtis Winery — the last family-owned remnant of the original Firestone Winery operations, defly helmed by winemaker Ernst Storm and grape grower Chuck Carlson — is serious about delivering uniqueness and quality.

With 38 percent grenache, 32 percent mourvèdre, and 27 percent syrah (okay, 3 percent cinsault too), this is a strawberry-licious spin on the ever popular GSM blend that possesses a very long, rich finish, a rarity in the often more thin rosé style.
