Elings Park Chairman’s Council Honors Jeff Elings

The Elings Park Chairman’s Council met on 6/7 for its 22nd annual party and to honor longtime volunteer and advocate Jeff Elings, after whose father, Virgil Elings the park was named. Elings was one of several speakers including Executive Director Danny Vickers, Board of Directors President Steve Katz, and Boardmember Marcia Constance, all of whom described the park as an unusually diverse, active, and community-friendly place. Elings, who helped create the park’s radio-controlled car and BMX tracks, expressed his gratitude to the park and its supporters for creating the kind of space in which it was possible for people with all kinds of interests and hobbies to, as he put it, “mess around with stuff.”
