The award recognizes businesses and individuals whose success has had a profound impact on the County of Santa Barbara.

The recognition is the second time Rosenblum has been recognized as a leading entrepreneur. She was previously honored as a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year event. It is the sixth time she has been recognized as a technology innovator.

Rosenblum founded Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) in 1996, after recognizing the healthcare industry was flush with data but absent actionable information. The Company now serves more than 5,000 clients nationwide and is the preferred solution for healthcare providers looking for real-time data analysis and benchmarking. The company has a reputation for innovation and exceptional customer commitment.

“For me, entrepreneurship is about recognizing problems and then building solutions to solve them,” she aid. “In the healthcare space, there’s a lot to fix.”

“Barbara is a fantastic innovator and an inspiring leader and I want to congratulate her on winning the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year Award,” said Klaus Schauser, the founder of AppFolio and ExpertCity, which is now Citrix. “Her personal passion has always been to improve our healthcare system. Barbara has created the leading Big Data, Business Intelligence, Software-as-a-Service Company that helps healthcare organizations improve their services, keeps patients out of hospitals and diminishes other avoidable events.

The award was presented June 13 at Fess Parker’s Double Tree Resort. The event supports the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, which provides scholarships for students majoring in business and technology fields at UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, and Westmont College. The program has provided more than $1.4 million to students.
