15-Year-Old Killed By Train

Accident Occurred Friday Evening in Goleta


A 15-year-old juvenile was hit and killed by a train at around 7:15 p.m. Friday evening in the area of Highway 101 and Kellogg Avenue in Goleta. The freight train was heading eastbound when it struck the victim, whose name has not been made public because of his age and the nature of the ongoing investigation. The victim’s family has been notified, said Sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover. She declined to release any more details on the incident.
