Artist Pali X-Mano shows off his wings in front of ‘Solar Creatures Dance Ensemble,’ an inflatable float he designed for the Summer Solstice parade (June 22, 2013)

Still rocking after 40 years, the Solstice Parade once again delivered the closest approximation of Carnival one can find in Santa Barbara. This year’s creature-themed affair featured a live wedding-on-a-float, a City Council dressed up as Wizard of Oz characters, and of course booty-bumping Brazilian dancers. If the longest day of the year still wasn’t quite long enough for you, no worries. Photographer Mike Clark was on the scene to capture all of Saturday’s art-loving, sun-worshipping, inhibition-absconding shenanigans so you can bask in the party one more time.
