As of Tuesday night, school’s not out for summer. The Board of Education gave the Santa Barbara Education Foundation permission to run a fee-based summer school at the San Marcos High School campus. Whereas the district conducts remedial summer school classes, these courses would allow students to get ahead on their credits and perhaps relieve classes that are overcrowded during the school year. The foundation is looking into providing scholarship opportunities.
