Riffing on comments by a person who enjoys blockading speeding women, men, girls, and boys.

Sally Swift steered the shiny car

Rolling down the roadway.

Her motto was, “Though near or far,

Speeding is not the way.”

She had not time to save rhinos,

Or cash to cure cancer,

And so, to help the world, she chose,

Speed demons to deter.

So simple that it could be done

On Sally’s not spare time,

And, in a way, a bit of fun,

Like lemonade from limes.

The service popped into her head

One night out on the road;

Feisty feet weighed down with lead,

Hopped traffic like a toad.

The small space that Sally Swift left

Had let him zig zag by.

A moving wall with stubborn heft,

Would have spit in his eye.

So Sally pledged to build blockades

With her car when she drove;

To lead finger bird shout parades,

Cure speeding in her grove.
