Smell the sweet perfume of wildflowers and listen to the birds’ songs of spring while cruising the waters of Cachuma Lake. From March-October, the park offers two-hour tours aboard the pontoon boat the Osprey that get folks up-close to the area’s thriving nature; a park naturalist comes along, giving information about the surrounding flora and fauna. Ages 4 and up are welcome. The watercraft has seats for 30, most of which are shaded. Summer Wildlife Cruises take place Fridays, 3-5 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m.-Noon and 3-5 p.m.; and Sundays, 10 a.m.-noon. Cost: $15 (adults), $7 (kids, 4-12 years old). Reservations are recommended.
