Thrice-failed supervisoral candidate Steven Pappas finally paid Doreen Farr, supervisor of the county’s 3rd District, more than $712,000 in attorneys fees and interest. The money was wired on 3/14. Pappas contested the results of the 2008 election — which he lost to Farr — alleging voter fraud in Isla Vista. Farr successfully defended the case, and a Court of Appeal said Pappas must pay attorney fees as a result.

Quite frankly, I'm shocked. I never thought that Farr would see a dime. I did not think that Pappas had that much money nor did I believe that Crawford-Hall would pay it. This is good news. Not only does Farr not have to suffer the expense of defending a vexatious lawsuit that she won, but this is also a good object lesson for people who pursue spurious litigation.

More was spent on the fight then the actual settlement.

Pappas is a perfect e.g. of a Republican: they never get it, and finally have to pay up. Bring on a new Prop. 31!

@Ken_Volok... The pig wasn't flying. She was singing.

You must be mistaken. Sarah hasn't been anywhere around so don't believe that was her you saw flying overhead!
